Under the Same Sky is a remarkable cross-cultural collaboration between Cassandra Wye from the UK and John Namai of Zamaleo Acts in Kenya. Together, they co-produced a training program aimed at nurturing emerging storytellers from marginalized communities in Kenya. The culmination of their efforts was a captivating showcase performance delivered in Swahili, Somali, and English.

The collaboration continues to thrive with a series of online training sessions offered to storytellers and educators worldwide. Additionally, the young tellers who participated in the program continue to perform the showcase at both in-person and online events, spreading their powerful stories and cultural richness.

Under the same sky project is a Culture Connects project supported by the British Council Cultural Exchange program.

The British Council Cultural Exchange program aims to encourage cultural organizations, festivals, artists, and creatives from Sub-Saharan African countries and the UK to create art, collaborate, build networks, develop markets, and share artists’ work with audiences.
